Materials:
1/3 yard each of two colors  (fleece with a slight stretch ) will make three hats
ruler, paper, scissors , pins
Matching thread, sewing machine or serger

Begin by drawing out your pattern.  Draw a 10, 11 or 12" square and cut it out. (If your fleece is not very stretchy, you may want to make your pattern at least 11 or 12" in width).  Divide in half, then in half again to give you marking guide lines.  Unfold once leaving 10, 11 or 12" square divided in half.  With a ruler, mark down 1 1/2" from the top marking across your pattern.  Using this line form a triangle going down to the 1 1/2" line and from the half way mark at top .  You'll now have a 5, 5.5, or 6" wide piece with a triangle formed at the top.  Cut off the top pieces leaving the triangle. When you unfold you piece , it should look like the pattern above.  Mark your left hand side as needing to be placed on the fold.

Using a 1/4" seam for all seams except where marked, sew down the side of the hat , opposite the fold.  Then sew up the outside points of the hat, leaving the inside V , not sewn.

With your two outside points sewn as shown above, bring the seams of those two points together pinning acrossed the hat to form the crown as shown being sewn below. Leave a small hole in the crown of one hat for reversing to the right side.

Tuck one hat up inside of the other .  Sew around the bottom of the hat 1/2" in up from the seam to give the hat a nice finished edge.  Shown below is the crown of a finished hat.
