5 Hour Baby Cap

Materials needed
Same size 16” circular needle as used when knitting 5-Hour Baby Sweater
(Recommended size 10 ½) and matching
size set of double points
Yarn needle
Stitch Marker
Gauge: 3.5 sts to 1”
If you want a smaller gauge, cast on 52 sts for a gauge of 4 sts. To 1”
Cast on 48 sts.
Working in the round being careful not to twist your stitches join
Rows 1-8: Knit
Row 9: K2
tog around
Row 10: P1, insert needle under the bar between the stitch just knit and the next stitch and purl that stitch,
repeat around
Row 11 and 12: Knit
Row 13-16: repeat rows 9-12
Row 17-20: repeat rows 9-12
Repeat rows 9-12
until hat measures 5”
Decrease for top of hat, changing to double points when necessary:
Row
1: K6, k2 tog repeat around
Row 2: K 5, K 2 tog around
Row 3: K4, K2 tog around
Row 4: K3, K2 tog around
Row
5: K2, K2 tog around
Row 6: K1, K2 tog around
Row 7: K2 tog around
Break off yarn and weave through stitches. Fasten
off and weave in ends.
